Today we caught a bus to Villard de-Lans, and within an hour, we landed in a mountain village similar to Whistler, only cheaper and a bit bigger; a real working village that also has a ski resort about half a mile from its center.
We took a hike/walk into the hills circling back to the village where we enjoyed a fabulous crepe lunch and huge caramel and creme brulee ice cream sundae. Yep, to
die for!
We didn't scale the mountains pictured here, but we did climb about 1000 feet above Villard de-Lans which put us at about 3100 feet. Even so, we did walk 8.5 miles today from door-to-door.
