Meeting Marie Heusse Again (18 years later)

This entry includes some pictures of Grenoble from the Bastille, the highest point looking out over the city, the    Alps, and some pictures of the river; Marie (who's graciously given us her apartment here in Grenboble) and her parents Phillipe and Michelle and Martin (Marie's brother). Isabelle (Martin's wife) took the group shot outside the Grenoble Museum where we all enjoyed a lovely lunch for about 2.5 hours. Yep, that's lunch French style.

The other pictures were taken in Marie's apartment. She needed to pick up a few things before heading to the family chalet near Geneva where Marie and her parents will spend the next two weeks.

I also included the "alarm clock"; we were awakened at 7AM by the road eating machine on our first morning in Grenoble. It appears the street below us is being repaved. This didn't matter much, because we only spent one night at Marie's apartment before catching the train to Le Puy En Velay. When we returned nearly three days later most of the work was done.

Since returning from Le Puy we've spent the last three days walking the city, putting about 5-6 miles on our feet a day. Marie brought her pedometer so we know how far we've walked.

I also included a picture of the telecabine we rode to the top of the Bastille. This is how we got the great shots of the Alps and Grenoble below.  We walked down one of the trails from the top to town where we found a creperie where we had lunch and then headed to the apartment for a nap around 2PM.

Ooolala but we could get used to this life!
