Martin and Isabelle's in St. Hilaire

We took the tram to Grenoble University after our museum excursion and met Martin at one of the tram stops. He drove us up to his and Isabelle's house on a plateau overlooking the valley     3,000 feet below. As you can see they're pretty close to heaven.

The mountain cliff rises behind their house another 2,000 feet. While sitting on their front deck you look across the valley at Alpine peaks and a swarm of hang and para-gliders.

We didn't intend on staying the night, because they have a cat, but they have a bedroom "Pinch" doesn't visit much, so we stayed. Whenever we visit the norm seems to be: aperitifs about 7pm, dinner at 9pm, and the cheese and dessert course ends around 11pm.

After a tour of their amazing home, Martin took us for a 3.5 mile hike along the ridge of the plateau and showed us where he launches his hang glider and where the para-gliders make their run off the mountain.
