Musee de L'Ancien Eveche

The Notre Dame Cathedral of Grenoble has been the headquarters for the Grenoble Archbishops since the Medieval Ages. While doing some renovation, it turns out the cathedral was built on top of a church that dates back to the 5th century, where the remains of a baptistry was uncovered.

Now the church is a museum full of a bunch of old stuff mainly dating back to 1000CE. I included a few pictures of the excavated baptistry and some other old stuff like a helmet, a window and doorway that are part of the original Archbishop's residence that dates back to the 13th century, and a solid silver staff. It looks gold but it's not. The street view of Notre Dame (the first shot), as you can see, isn't much to look at, but the museum is spectacular and the best part, besides being free, is that audio guides in
English are provided as well.
