More of Panama City

This is a montage of Panama City. You can see it's thriving. The highway along the harbor was water two years ago; that's how fast the city is growing. The Spanish colonial buildings are in Casco Viejo (Old Town, established in 1673) where the Spanish governor and original colonists lived. It is a World Heritage site now and the renovation is underway. Squatters, with familial ties that go back hundreds of years, still live in buildings not yet renovated. The government is negotiating what to do with the hold outs who don't want to move into the brand new homes built for them in the suburbs.

I included pictures of Iglesia San Jose (church of the golden altar), Catedral de Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion (white cathedral and pics of main door from inside), the Flat Arch, which served as proof that Panama was earthquake free and therefore safe to build Panama Canal, kids swimming in the fountain in Bolivar Plaza, leggings from a Kuna girl (indigenous people who are independent and major entrepeneurs), and street shots that might give you a feel for Panama City.
