Panama 2013—back at Las Lajas Resort

We cut our stay in Boquete two days short, because clearly there wasn't enough to do after spending two days driving all around the mountains and walking the roads up out of town. Since we aren't rock climbers or extreme hikers we decided to come back to Las Lajas Resort where we could walk the beach, frolic in the Pacific and the pool, and eat and drink to our heart's content.

So today (our first full day here), for example, we rose around 8AM, took a walk down the beach about a half a mile, turned around, and then sat down for breakfast. I followed that with a swim in the Pacific as the tide rolled in for about 45 minutes while Marie read her novel and watched to make sure I didn't get sucked out to Japan.

And that was followed by a swim in the pool and a few beers. Oh and then that was followed by a nap in the sun, another swim, and a lovely lunch around 3PM.

Around 5PM we took a long walk down the beach where I caught these pictures and two videos, one of a crab scurrying into his hole after feeding and another feeding. When you get a million crabs sifting the sand for food you get miles of churned up beach. Amazing!

Ya, and then we followed all of this exhausting National Geographic work with a gin and tonic. Yep, it's not easy being us.

Okay enough chatter. Here are the few pics and movies we shot today, July 19th.

Greeted by the swans again—this time in the blue room
Check out the darker areas of the beach. This is where the small beach crabs have been feeding. Yep, the crab tracks go on for miles. We noted where they were this morning and the crabs are in the same area no matter the tide. This is clearly where the food is.
Island off Las Lajas. It was clear enough to see it
